Who am I?
Hey there, welcome to the hub! I’m currently studying as an aviation student with a strong path towards building a career in commercial flying. As time flies, so does my learning curve; I’m thoroughly committed to not only honing my skills to be the best they can be, but also developing the character I aspire to be: a successful role model pilot in the future.
My core values—loyalty, understanding, and communication—are essential to how I operate both in personal and professional environments. I take great pride in being someone who listens and provides advice or knowledge, recognizing that personal skills are just as vital in the aviation indsutry. Whether it’s working in a team or dealing with multiple tasks under pressure, I aim to handle all situations with hard work & honesty.
I’m highly motivated by exploration! Unique things learnt about myself, others, or the world draw me in the most. I’m always ready to grow and push beyond my comfort zone. I view each challenge as an opportunity to improve myself, and new experiences as a stepping ladder towards my goals, even if they don’t always have good outcomes!

Reflection ~ Sunflower Postcard

Reflection ~ Sunflower Postcard
I picked up a postcard of a sunflower during one of my lectures and it made me reflect on myself and who I want to be. There’s something powerful in the way a sunflower works, the way it grows to be facing the sun, and hence why it’s named the sunflower. It reminded me of the kind of person I want to be in the future: someone who chooses positivity, someone who keeps moving forward even when I encounter obstacles that I believe I can never get past.
At times, I’ve found myself stuck in a cycle of negative thoughts or overwhelmed by self-doubt and overthinking. However, the sunflower made me realize that in the same way that it grows towards the sun, that I can also choose where I direct my energy towards. I can turn negativity around by focusing on the parts that uplift me instead of moping and being in misery. I believe I want to be someone who refuses to be defined by obstacles.
In the future, I want to make a useful effort to face the sun myself, to look for growth in my life and remain hopeful. In another way, I want to stand tall, keep reaching for the best or for what I can grab and stay in the light and positivity of things.

Reflection ~ Missed Train
Recently, I had missed a train because I ran into a couple issues with my ticket, and therefore I didn’t allow myself enough room for any errors before my train was supposed to arrive. After missing my train, I felt a mix of frustration and regret; not just because I was late, but because I figured out in the end that it could have been avoided with better planning.
This small accident made me think of the times I’ve faced the same problem: underestimating how long things will take, and not giving myself time to prepare properly in advance. While it seemed like a minor inconvenience to me, it made me realize how much unnecessary stress and fatigue come from a lack of foresight.
In the future, I want to be more careful with the way I plan my time. I aim to prepare much earlier, plan more realistically, and avoid putting myself in situations where I rush things last minute or run into problems. Being better prepared allows me better punctuality, it strengthens the relationship with my responsibilities and in the end it gives me peace of mind too!
Self-Evaluation
The current module has proven to be a valuable experience for me. At the beginning, I found myself often confused and struggling with staying organized. The amount of information I took in felt overwhelming, and I wasn’t too sure how to approach tasks in an orderly way. However, as the term progressed, I gradually began to develop better habits and became more interested in condensing my tasks.
One of the largest significant areas of growth for me is in my constant developing critical thinking skills. Through various discussions and/or debates, I’ve learned to question ideas more deeply, and to analyze different perspectives. With active engagement and after-class thought, I became more confident in thinking more independently.
Additionally, reflecting more often has helped me gain a clearer understanding of myself and my learning styles. Writing these reflections forced me to slow down, consider what I learnt, and add how it applied to my own experiences. This process made it much easier to single out my strengths and brought awareness to areas I still need to improve, especially managing my time and staying organized.
Overall, this module has not only helped my academic skills but also encouraged personal growth. I can confidently say I recognize the importance of self-awareness in learning and I feel more confident to approach future challenges. I have learnt that confusion is normal and a starting point, and that growth comes through constant persistence and reflection.

Vision Board – I created a small vision board to show my long-term aspirations and the future I see myself in.
I included some metaphors, such as the chess image representing my want to better myself at strategy, and the handshake image representing my want to build many new connections as I move between different stages of learning.
The quote “take to the skies, even if it’s hard” is something I aspire to live by, as I don’t want any obstacles to obstruct the way towards my career, no matter how difficult the journey becomes.
After all, after the storm always comes a sunny calm!
